Ask HN: Science books for kids with experiment kits?

Growing up I was given a book which covered a variety of cool science topics & facts, what are the hottest and coldest temperatures known to man, how does solar power work, how do engines work, cool chemistry tidbits, etc. The book itself was super interesting to read by itself but the best part was that it came with a separate box with maybe 10-20 different experiments that the book would then guide you in doing. For example, there was a tiny electric motor and you would hook it up to a little solar panel they provided and do something cool with it. Or you would have a little chemistry testing strip that would turn a different color if you put it in milk or if you put it in lemon juice to show ph levels. Does anything like this still exist? I would love to buy something similar for one of my friends kids as a birthday gift.
