the reason why info bubbles tend to self-radicalize is that everyone joining a group (FB group, Discord server, doesn't matter) wants clout within it. one way to get it is to produce quality content. that is difficult. another way to get it is to produce "brightly colored" content. that is easy. (bright blue for blue groups, bright red for red groups etc) emergent behavior: most people do the latter, because it's easier / less taxing on the brain. result: overton window shifts towards brighter hues. https://ift.tt/1v7GJ0Q
